As most patriots know, Tufty the Traffic Safety Squirrel commands the Squirrel Enforcement Army and it's drive to subdue the planet.

Tufty has many tools at his disposal including a well-oiled propaganda machine spreading the false promises of squirrel world domination.

One of the false promises is that all will be well if you memorize and mindlessly follow Tufty's Kerb Drill...

The Kerb Drill is supposed to teach the correct way to cross streets without being run down by lorries and ice cream vans.

Of course, we've exposed the Kerb Drill for what it really is: a not so subtle message that you must obey Tufty or suffer the consequences (see links below). Moreover, the drill is unreliable and is plain dangerous in countries where traffic patterns run the opposite of Tufty's homeland, England.

Not unexpectedly, we receive letters from pathetic skwerlhuggers who find our opposition to squirrel world domination and Tufty's Kerb Drill offensive. They argue that the Kerb Drill is a charming way to teach children traffic safety.

Well, we certainly agree that children should be taught how to cross the road without mishap. But, are we really supposed to trust a despot skwerl to deliver a message about traffic safety? And must we expose children to the violence against weasles so prevalent in Tufty's films?

Patriots, there is an alternative to Tufty's pedantic Kerb Drill. It's the Think! Get across road safety (sic) campaign offered by England's Department for Transport (see link below).

This enlightened approach to road safety uses saintly, adorable hedgehogs to spread the message that one must think as well as look before crossing streets (click hedgehogs for comment).

The campaign includes posters, pamphlets and a motivating film in which a young hedgehog is taught that not using your brain before crossing the street might just get you squashed by a rampaging elephant.
