scary squirrel world O SAY CAN YOU SEE...

Patriots, the word symbol is defined as "An arbitrary sign (written or printed) that has acquired a conventional significance" and as "Something visible that by association or convention represents something else that is invisible."

Symbolism in all its various forms is a prominent feature of human civilization. It is used to convey information quickly to those who understand a symbol's meaning.

For example, the general meaning of the graphic to your right is: No Squirrels. It's exact meaning depends on the context in which it apears.

It may simply mean "no skwerls allowed" or it could mean "destroy all chitterboxes."

Needless to say, symbols, especial religious and/or nationalist symbols, often evoke strong emotions. How you react to a symbol depends on your point of view. So, if you're a Patriot, you may feel comforted by the symbol above, but a pathetic skwerlhugger may be outraged by it.

Likewise, destruction of nationalist symbols is a most poignant act. It symbolizes the death of a socio-political system. Thus, is it any wonder that the bushytail horde is constantly straining to deface, defile, and destroy America's most cherished symbol - the Flag. The following news brief is a case in point...

Cemetery's flags found in squirrel nest
AP -Thu Sep 7, 10:05 AM ET

Groundskeepers at Forest Hill Cemetery thought it was kids who were stealing dozens of American flags. That is, until one found a giant squirrel's nest.

"I was mowing, looked up out into the distance, and something caught my eye," said Dave Ender, a groundskeeper employed by the Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department.

He drove his riding lawnmower to a nearby street intersection and looked up a tree.

"Low and behold, I found the missing flags," Ender said. They were ripped and serving as the foundation of a giant squirrel nest.

"I never seen anything like that before," he said. No one at the cemetery had ever seen a squirrel with a flag in its mouth, either.

"They must have done it at night, or very early in the morning," Ender said.

"Those little rascals, they're just amazing," he said.

Patriots, from the tone of the article and local media's attitude, it's pretty clear that the Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department as well as the media are controlled by a bunch of reprobate, appeasment-mongering, skwerl-o-fascists... After all, where is the outrage and the immediate call to arms?

Moreover, what are we to make of the Department's flippant attitude towards the presence of a slavering "giant squirrel" in a public cemetery? Is the safety and security of the good residents of Eau Claire not a priority, and does the Department have no respect for the those interred...?

CLICK FOR COMMENT And what about the obvious nod to skwerlhuggery when Groundskeeper Ender characterizes the cemetery's normal sized skwerls as amazing "little rascals"?

Clearly, the Department's employee manual needs an overhaul (click skwerl for comment).

As for the appropriate reaction to this type of chitterbox outrage, we have only one thing to say: Mr. Ender, CUT DOWN THAT TREE!!! Then raise up a mighty flag pole made of solid silver, flying Old Glory - made of spun gold, and top it with a pure crystal orb from which the laser light of freedom will blind the eyes of traitorous skwerl-o-fascists around the globe.
