FAQs
Why doesn't the game work? The possibilities are: 1) the game is hosted
offsite and the site is slow, down, or the game was removed (solution:
refresh your browser, come back later, report the problem to us). 2) Some
games have ads in them. If the ad doesn't load, the game may not play
(solution: refresh your browser, come back later). 3) Our server is slow
(solution: come back later). 4) Games download to your computer. If the
download becomes corrupted the game won't play (solution: clear your cache and/or
refresh your browser). 5) You don't have the right plug-in to play the game
(solution: get the right plug-in). 6) Your security settings block the game.
Parental controls, security settings on school computers, your computer's
security settings, as well as some firewalls/spam/malware/spyware blockers
may cause this (solution: change your security settings, use a proxy, tell
us which game is the problem).
Your embedded games don't work! Embedded games are hosted on other websites but displayed here. We identify them as "hosted offsite". We use the embed method if copyright restrictions preclude hosting the game on our site and/or to conserve our bandwidth (bandwidth costs money). See above for solutions, but for those behind a firewall like BESS, you may be out-of-luck. BESS is used by schools to block websites.
Can I submit a game I made? Only squirrel games. GAMEMAKERS: We have a small budget for skwerl-related games. If you want to pitch your game to us and maybe make a few bucks, send a sample (or link to the game), name your price, and we'll get back to you.
Can I request a game? Sure. We appreciate requests. Please give us the correct name of the game. Avoid general requests like "more games with unicorns..."
I requested a game but it's not online! Copyright restrictions prevent us from hosting some games. Some games suck. Some games require special plugins that amount to spyware. Some games do not have an online version. Sometimes we can't find the requested game. It helps if you provide us with a link to the game you want. Or, the game is here, you need to search for it using the search option at the top of the page and/or your browser's find/search function (Crtl-F). And sometimes you just have to be patient until we get to it.
Why are all the more recent games at the bottom of the page? It just happened that
way and we're too lazy to change it.
Are you getting rich doing this? No, this is a not-for-profit, amateur web site. That's why it's ad-free except for ads that come embedded in some games. We are signed up with Mochimedia, a game distribution site that embeds ads in games, but we did that to get access to new games, not to make money.
