HOW TO USE THE SKETCHIN' DEVICE

Although the Sketchin' Device is fairly easy to use, it needs some explanation. The device itself is a java applet and can take about 90 seconds to load on a 56k connection. To begin, just click on the device screen.

Brushes are indicated by the diagonal lines to the right of the 'Undo' button. There is no paintbucket fill, so this is how you paint in the drooling nutkin's body.

Options Box: sits to the right of the brushes. This has all your choices for drawing.

Fill: you'd think selecting this choice would let you fill in large areas at once. Sorry, that'd be too easy. It allows you to draw solid color circles, etc., which you can use to fill small areas.

Colors: clicking on the domed colors opens the palette for that color below it. Clicking on a color below the domes selects the color you want to use. That color appears in the large square to the right of the palette.

Send: you can deliver your pic to us by clicking once on the send button. You must give your masterpiece a title (at least 3 characters), and you must give yourself a name (at least 5 characters). The device does not send us your email address or suck anything out of your computer. If you want to include your email address, you can type it as the Title or Name. Alternatively, you can write it on the picture in a spot where we can easily remove it if we put your pic online.

Privacy: if you want your full name on your sketch, include it. Otherwise, we don't publish or release anyone's name or e-dress; and you won't find yourself on some sorry mailing list either.
